Winter and Christmas 2010/2011

I have to admit, the winters here are amazing! I can handle a little rain if it means 50 degree weather almost every day. It has snowed here twice so far and on clear days we can see the snow-capped mountains behind the Seattle skyline out our living room window. The sunsets are unbelievable too.

Brian and I traveled to MN in December to celebrate the life of my beloved Grandpa Olsen. I miss him terribly and still think of him often. The bright light of the experience was being able to be home with my family. My family kept joking that Grandpa got both me AND Brian back for Christmas, finally! I believe it was healing for all of us to be together in sorrow and joy that weekend.

Brian and I were so excited to see the little ones too. Bennett and Emma change so much, so fast and seeing them was wonderful! Matt and Melissa sure know what they are doing in the baby-making department;)

Honeymoon

We LOVED our trip to Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia this past November. The weather was great and was the perfect place to go since Brian and I love water and sun. It was just nice having time off of work. We took a helicopter to and from the resort which cut off about 2 hours of travel time. The island took a hit from a hurricane in October so I guess the roads were horrible. It was an awesome ride and a really great way to see the whole island.

Our friends, Adam and Becky, had their wedding in the middle of the week. It was a beautiful ceremony on the beach and we were honored to be their witnesses.

We also went to see the local active volcano, took a tour of the coast and beautiful bays via speedboat, and ate lunch at a local, authentic St. Lucia restaurant. We came home well rested and tan :).
